I have owned Boston Terriers since 1989 first as companions, then performance (Agility), and conformation show Boston’s. My interest in the dog show ring came about naturally.
At the age of 9 I began Competing with both horses and
Charlolais cattle always with an emphasis on producing better specimens of the breed. This early knowledge has transferred over into my interest in the Boston Terrier.
Since I first began my goal is to breed top quality Boston’s that exemplify the breed standard, with an emphasis on good health, sweet temperament, soundness and quality. I am very proud to be recognized as a breeder that performs extensive health testing on all of my Boston’s that will reproduce as well as new puppies. My health testing program includes: BAER (hearing) CERF (eyes) Patella’s (knee joint) Cardiac (heart) and Spine. Results are registered with the OFA Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. Additionally all of my Boston’s have been DNA tested By AHT (Animal Health Trust) in England. This test has been available since early 2006, and identifies the gene responsible for Juvenile Cataract that affects the Boston Terrier..
In 2005 I worked with Members of the health committee of the Boston Terrier club of America and other fellow Boston breeder exhibitors to start a data base with the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) for spine anomalies in the Boston Terrier. Spine anomalies are usually an asymptomatic condition, however it is believed that severely affected dogs when used together to reproduce it can be life threatening to their offspring.
I hold a license/permit with the county of San Luis Obispo, for raising, housing and showing my dogs. My dogs are raised and live in my home and have large yards in which to exercise. Occasionally I have adults and or puppies available to qualified homes. I welcome visitors and encourage prospective Boston owners to come and learn more about all aspects of the breed. Puppies that are sold as companions are sold with a spay/neuter agreement with limited registration. Adults, usually retired Champions or young adolescents that are offered as companions will be spayed/neutered prior to being adopted. Prospective buyers are carefully screened, and in most cases I require all prospective buyers come to my home to meet the gang. I take the placement of my dogs very seriously and seek a forever home for each dog that is offered.
I am a member of the Boston Terrier Club of America,
